I picked up a camera in my youth and rediscovered my love of photography at the age of 25. Now, I think, see, and live my life through a photographic lens. Painfully shy growing up, photography has allowed me to be fully invited into peoples' lives. And to me, the people I meet is the best part; I wouldn't trade those relationships for the world.
For me, wedding photography is one of the greatest artistic challenges and most meaningful genres of work. Wedding photography requires mastery in so many fields: portraiture, photojournalism, fashion, natural light, studio lighting, posing, storytelling, candids, and more. So much goes into a single image; that image not only tells a story or evokes an emotion, but appreciates in emotional value over time. It is really an honor to be given such a responsibility by my clients.
On your wedding day, I am an artistic director who encourages and influences the shot. I don't create moments that didn't naturally exist. I learned shooting film; Photoshop wasn't an option. I had to get it right in camera or I didn't get it at all. This approach defines my style - clean, elegant, and natural - as I don't use Photoshop to make something that wasn't there to begin with. For me, nothing trumps the moment, and that is what I am present for.
In addition to being a photographer, I am also a high school teacher. I love influencing kids and investing in their future. I live with my fiance and two dogs, Capone and Timber. In the winter, you can find me on a chairlift nearly every weekend.
