San Marino Club wedding – Troy, Michigan

Lindsay + Travis’s San Marino Club Wedding

Have you ever met someone who was so kind and warm that their sheer presence was felt in a room?  That is Lindsay.  Lindsay is one of the kindest people I have ever met.  I joked with her that there is a special place in Heaven for people like her; she is that sincere and nice.  It would take someone very special, someone whose personality was just as kind, calm, and gentle, to marry Lindsay.  Meet Travis.  While Travis didn’t talk much in the early days of our consultation and wedding planning, he did look at Lindsay with love and admiration.  It is these types of couples that remind you what a wedding is truly all about – the decision to love and respect the other person more than yourself, for the rest of your life.    I was lucky enough to be present to document it.

The day started with Lindsay getting ready at her house with the help of some of her girlfriends.  It was a relaxed and enjoyable morning.  Lindsay looked gorgeous in her dress, which had a champagne accent to it.

Like most brides, Lindsay was close with her dad.  He warned me even before the photos started, “I am going to cry a lot today.  Probably more than Travis.”  He was right.  Lindsay is his oldest daughter and the first of his to get married.  With that, we wanted to give him a special memory of the day and staged a first look with Lindsay before she saw Travis for the first time on her wedding day.  Needless to say, there were tears.

After the first look with her dad, we went to Van Hoosen Farm in Rochester for Lindsay and Travis’s first look.  Just like the couple, it was pretty adorable.

After the first look, we strolled the grounds and created some beautiful images.

Van Hoosen has some beautiful and lush greenery.  I love balancing the beauty of nature with the beauty of a couple.

After their formal photos, we went to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb for the ceremony.  They held their ceremony in the chapel.  True to form, Lindsay’s dad shed a tear as he started down the aisle.  I love this series of photos though; care, love, and reassurance are being communicated, even without words.

Before we left, I saw a lone window shining speckled light through it in the church.  I knew this would be the perfect place to create an image that reflected Lindsay’s angelic beauty.

After the ceremony, it was time to have some fun with friends.

After all the work was done, we went to the hall for their San Marino Club wedding.  The speeches were jovial with a touch of embarrassment.  If I remember the story right, Travis accidentally included a kissy face emoji in his first text to Lindsay.  That won’t ever be let down.

…more tears.

And once the dance floor was open, the party began.
